For Labor Day we headed for the coast. Thankfully the Shelton's came along! Heading to the coast is always a gamble, all the weather apps in the world never seem to accurately describe it. Probably because it is always changing. Most days are nice with just a little bit of wind but, every now and then the wind is out of control like shaking cars and blowing all your stuff into the ocean. It happens and you never really know if it's going to be one of those days. But, it is ALWAYS ALWAYS worth going because when the weather is good it is SOOOOO GOOD!!
So we took the chance and it was pretty windy at first but we hung in there the boys were having fun playing in the sand but eventually the wind started to get worse and we started getting pelted by flying sand so we decided to give it up.
We found a nearby park and it turned out to be the perfect park. Playground, creek, hiking trails, secluded picnic spots, I mean perfect. So we sent the guys to the store and for supplies and had an impromptu barbeque. Sometimes the days where nothing goes as planned turn out to be the most fun days of all.
