It seems impossible that this little boy came into our lives four years ago. How did time go by so quickly? Four just seems so big. This age is seriously so special (I know I keep thinking that every age he is, is the greatest) but, this age is pure magic. To finally know what goes on in his mind and to hear him tell me stories and to see him pick up new things all the time is just so exciting and fun. How is it possible that he can make me laugh and want to pull out all my hair in the same moment? He is just so extra special and I know all moms say that but really he is. He can make even the grumpiest looking people smile, laugh and wave to him. He really is something extraordinary. Being his mother is such a glorious gift one I will probably never be worthy of but I will never stop trying. Happy Birthday my love, may you always know how very much you are loved.
Here are a few bits of our conversations with him:
1. While we were playing one morning - "Mom, I'm going to go in my room to talk to myself".
2. While Daddy was singing his hush little baby song at bedtime - He stretches his arms up and puts them behind his head, turns to Daddy and says - "I should probably get some sleep now." then yawns
3. I put him in a time out - He bursts into tears and says "Mom, I thought you were nice!"
4. The neighbor's cat started to follow us home - He looks over at Daddy and says "Hey Dad we have a cat now, isn't that great?!"
5. We were walking and getting ready to cross a street and I asked him if he would hold my hand and he says, "I'm a Rock mom; Rock's don't hold hands"
6. On the way home from church Daddy asked if he wanted grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. He says "Gurrled cheese sandwiches are for girls Dad!"
