I couldn't be happier
Well we finally have our baby and he was well worth the wait. On August 14th at 7:27 pm we welcomed Rockford Ray Riggs V into the world through the miracle of adoption. We couldn't be happier and more in love with this precious boy. He is amazing and we feel so blessed to get to be his parents.
We came to Ohio on the 11th of August to meet our birthmother (whom we adore). We got to meet her and her family and ended up meeting with the birthfather and his family as well. What a magical thing adoption is we feel like our family has grown by leaps and bounds and our baby is so blessed to have so many people who love him.
We were headed for the airport to return home with plans to fly out on the 21st since she was due on the 23rd. We got a call from her mother saying she was having contractions and heading to the hospital. We couldn't believe it! We turned around and headed for the hospital (a 5 hour drive). We were getting updates all the way and we barely missed his birth by about 45 minutes (he was in a rush to greet the world). We arrived at the hospital and held this perfect boy and even got to spend the next 3 days at the hospital with him. On the 17th at 7:30pm we were officially his parents. We still have to stay in Ohio until all the paperwork is processed.
We can't wait to bring him home and introduce him to his extended family. Thanks to our families for your love and support. We couldn't have made it through the last 10 years of infertility without you. We made it through and are so glad we never gave up on our dream because now it's come true.

ReplyDeleteHoly cow... you updated! Hallelujah!! This boy is so stinking precious, now would you just get home already so I can meet him!? We miss you guys like crazy and have been counting down the days until you get here. I want to call, but I don't want to interrupt this precious time you have alone with him! The newborn phase goes so fast... you just want to savor every bit of it!!! Love you guys, hope your trip home is soon and safe!
